How to Seal Your Packages Properly for Small Package Shipping
Getting ready to send out a small package? No matter what it is that you’re shipping, one of the most important steps in the packing process is sealing the box shut. A proper seal will protect the contents of your package and help ensure everything arrives in good condition. However, failure to seal your box properly could cause is to bust open during transit, leading to damage or even product loss.
With that in mind, here are a few tips to make certain you seal your packages shut properly:
- Make sure the contents of the box aren’t too heavy — First things first, if the contents inside the package are heavier than what the box can support, it won’t matter how much tape you reinforce the seams with; the package will bust open at some point. So, make sure you’re not overloading the box
- Use the right tape — Tape your box shut along the seams using 2-inch wide tape. Make sure it’s packaging tape that you’re using. Don’t use scotch tape, masking tape, or any other type of tape. And don’t use string or twine.
